Overview
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to use the new Survey or Polling feature. It covers how to grant permissions to groups for creating surveys, how to post a survey, and the necessary modifications for custom themes to accommodate this feature.
Information
One of our newest features is our Survey or Polling feature. In order to use this you will need to grant a permission to the groups you want to be able to create surveys. For example:
Navigate to the Admin > Users & Groups > Manage > Groups
For this example, I am going to grant the permission to the "New Group" group.
Select the wrench icon next to the group you want to grant the permission.
Select Permissions and then choose which space you want to allow your users to post surveys in. If you want it for the entire site, just select "Site Permissions" Select the wrench icon and choose "Advanced"
Then select Standard Roles and scroll down until you find Publish surveys and grant the permission.
Then select "ok" at the bottom to save.
Now the members of your group New Group can post surveys on your community in all spaces.
How To Post a Survey
Select "Create" and then "Ask a Question"
Fill out the Question Title, Question Body and below the description box you will see a option to Add Survey:
Click on button and it will open a new window where you can add your question and options for your users to vote on:
The maximum number of choices you can have is 5.
Then select the deadline for the survey to expire:
be sure to add your topics and select your space where your question & survey will live:
Post your question and you will see something similar:
Your users can now vote on your poll!
*Please note that if you are a current customer and have a custom theme your theme will need to be modified to take advantage of this new survey feature. Please reach out to your Account Manager for details.
