How to Merge Topics

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to merge multiple topics into a single topic in your community for topic cleanup purposes.

 

Information

Occasionally you may want to do some topic cleanup on your community and you may want to merge multiple topics into a single topic. Here is how you do that.

1. Find the topic you want to merge by searching in the admin. Go to Content > Manage > Topics

2. Click on the wrench for any topic (it doesn't matter which one as you just need to access the Merge topic option)

3. Start typing in the first topic you want to merge, in this case I used topic

4. Click on the first topic you want to work with and it will drop down to the bottom of the window, example:

5. Repeat step 4 until you have all of the tags you want to work with at the bottom of the box with white radio buttons next to them. example:

6. Click the radio button next to the topic that you want to keep (all of the other topics will merge into this topic)

7. Click "ok"

8. Result: Topic, Topic-Tags have been merged into the tag "topic tag"

Congratulations! Your tags have now been merged.
