Overview
You can also use AnswerHub permissions to create a space that will only allow certain users or groups to be able to post specified types of content. This is very useful if you want to create space where general users can only ask questions but users belonging to the Moderator, or any Custom, group with Moderator permissions are able to answer those questions or create articles.
Information
To create the user and content-specific spaces, you must:
- Grant the Users group the required Start [content type] permission for the specific content type that
you want users to be able to post in the chosen space.
- If you do not want users to be able to create content of any other type in the chosen space, you must revoke every other Start [content type] permission in the selected space.
When you revoke the Start [content type] permission in a space, you remove the selected content creation option from all of AnswerHub’s related dropdown menus within that space.
For Example: If general users (those only belonging to the Users group) are to only be able to ask a question in a space you would grant the Start asking (go to the ask page) permission to the Users group while revoking all of the other Start [content type] permissions in that space.
- If you do not want users to be able to create content of any other type in the chosen space, you must revoke every other Start [content type] permission in the selected space.
- Grant the required Start [content type] permissions to the group that must have the ability to create other content types. (Although you will still not be able to publish them without the Publish [content type] permissions granted.
For Example: If you want moderators to be able to respond to questions posted in the space described in the example above, you would grant the Moderator group the Start answering permission in the selected space.
This is only one example of this functionality. The concept applies to any permission in any space on the AnswerHub platform.
