Using AnswerHub Permissions to Require Content to Go Through Moderation

Overview

You can use AnswerHub permissions to make it so that all content of a specific type must go through the moderation user interface before it is able to be published on your site. This article explains how this feature can be used and what permissions must be revoked to achieve such a goal.

Information

This feature is very useful for sites that are attempting to use the AnswerHub community to produce quality articles for publication, that are interested in only allowing the highest quality content to be published on their site, or even those that just want to make sure their moderators have the opportunity to read any questions before they are published.

To use permissions to require content to go through moderation, you must revoke all of the following permissions for the Users group at the site level of your AnswerHub site:

  • Publish questions
  • Publish answer
  • Publish comment
  • Publish topic
  • Publish kbentry (kbentry is the UI name for articles. It is derived from the Knowledge Base (KB) plugin that allows articles to be created).
  • Publish ideas (Ideas are available with the Ideation plugin that allows ideas to be created).
